A K-9 in Washington state played a crucial role in the arrest of a naked suspect who led police on a bizarre pursuit that spanned multiple counties and ended in a trash can.

In an incident that has left many baffled, a naked suspect has been arrested by a K-9 in Washington state after a chaotic pursuit that involved multiple law enforcement agencies and a stolen vehicle. The incident, captured on bodycam footage, has been dubbed "K9 Bronco vs. Naked Guy" by the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, which released a press release detailing the events.

The incident began on August 11th, when deputies attempted to contact a male suspect sleeping in a stolen F550 truck. However, the suspect fled, leading deputies on a high-speed chase that extended into King County, Washington State Patrol took over the pursuit as it entered Snohomish County before the suspect headed south to Seattle, where he eventually crashed and fled on foot.

"Deputies utilized a 40mm less lethal round to make a hole in the rear window of the vehicle," the sheriff's office explained. "The woman started to yell [that] she was getting dressed."

Moments later, the suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot, completely naked.

"He had jumped several fences before deputies lost sight of him," the sheriff's department added.

The bodycam footage captures the officers' surprise and determination as they pursue the suspect. "He's running naked! Over the fence!" an officer can be heard yelling.

The pursuit led to a backyard, where officers spotted a trash can that had been recently moved. As the K-9, Bronco, approached the trash can, the suspect was discovered hiding inside.

"He was then taken into custody without any further attempts to flee," the press release stated. "This suspect continuously tried to evade law enforcement until he came eye to eye with K9 Bronco. Only wearing a birthday suit, he finally made a good decision and surrendered to our deputies."

The suspect was arrested by authorities on suspicion of stealing a vehicle and evading arrest.
