A British Anglican minister and conservative commentator has issued a stark warning to Americans, urging them to resist the influence of progressive Christianity and the threat of liberalism to Western civilization.

Free Church of England minister and prominent British conservative commentator Calvin Robinson has launched a scathing attack on progressive Christianity, warning that liberalism poses a grave threat to the Western Church and society as a whole. In an interview with The Christian Post, Robinson implored Americans to heed the lessons learned in his home country, where he believes spiritual and political forces have eroded British values.

Robinson, who recently relocated to the United States to lead a parish ministry in Michigan, expressed concern over the growing influence of progressive ideologies within the Church of England and the broader Western culture. He argues that these ideologies, which embrace inclusivity and diversity, have undermined the core tenets of Christianity and led to a decline in Christian values.

"The Church of England has become very liberal in terms of divorce, sex outside marriage, same-sex relationships, transgenderism," Robinson said. "And every time the Church tries to be more inclusive, it actually becomes more exclusive to Christianity and to Christian values, and more inclusive to worldly values and just further plummets that downward trajectory."

Robinson believes that liberalism, with its emphasis on tolerance and compassion, is a Trojan horse for communism, an ideology he views as incompatible with Christian beliefs. "Liberalism is even more warped [than Islam]," he said, "in terms of taking something that sounds compassionate, sounds empathetic, but isn't actually fully true in order to get people to believe in it, such as, you know, trans queer theory, gender theory, critical race theory."

These radical liberal ideas, Robinson argues, stem from a Marxist worldview that seeks to undermine traditional institutions and values. "It's really, I mean, we call it ‘neo–Marxism,’ but it's really communism, which we know is incompatible with the Christian faith because it is the work of the enemy," Robinson said.

Robinson urged Americans to cherish and protect their culture, which he views as a beacon of traditional values in a rapidly changing world. "American culture is a fantastic culture," he said. "Hold on to it, promote it, encourage it. If you want to become multicultural and let other cultures in, that's something you have to consider. But do not give it up to the detriment of your own."

Robinson's dire warnings come amid social unrest and government crackdowns in his home country. Over the summer, riots broke out in England after the murders of three children by a teenage suspect of Rwandan descent. The government responded by threatening to imprison citizens deemed guilty of inflammatory social media posts about the riots while releasing criminals from overcrowded prisons.

Robinson criticized the government's actions, accusing it of suppressing free speech and prioritizing political expediency over maintaining social order. "The UK seems to have imploded and entirely lost its common sense," he said.

Despite the challenges facing the Church and Western civilization, Robinson maintains a steadfast faith in God's ultimate plan. "I don't despair at all," he said. "Despair is a sin. There's no sense in despairing. As I say, empires rise and fall. So as this empire — the British Empire, or Western civilization — as it falls, it's our duty to think big picture and remember that God has a plan, and He only permits things for a reason."

Robinson's message is one of both urgency and hope, calling on Christians to resist the forces of liberalism and progressive ideologies while trusting in God's sovereignty over all.
